In our 3 year old program, students learn a school routine. As this is their first experience in a school setting, they learn to transition to different classes and different teachers. Children participate in gym, art, Spanish, and music. Children learn in large group, small group, and one on one settings. Three year olds have a natural curiosity and wonder about them. Our program lets them explore their world in a variety of ways and learning opportunities. The Investigator Club is a wonderful program that will help your child learn basic readiness skills in literacy, math, science, social studies, oral language, art, and music. We will learn these skills through different units of study such as friends and family, going to school and animals. Along with the Investigator Club, children will also be introduced to Get Set for School (Handwriting without Tears). In this program, the focus is on preparing for readiness in writing and math skills. Music, movement, multisensory manipulatives are used to teach core readiness skills which include pencil grip, numbers and letter recognition and formation. Children will also learn in the math program about spatial awareness, patterning, sequencing, matching, and sorting. All of these will be learned using manipulatives, music, and rhyming. In Religion, we use Stories of God’s Love. This program uses bible as well as everyday stories to learn about God and all that is created. There is a preschool class that learns about God and shares their story with us. Then a Bible story from the New and Old Testament is taught to the class. Learning about God is on a young level with bright pamphlets that have an activity inside and parent info on the back. Website link for Mrs. Lawrence |
