Third Grade Saint Gabriel School
Third grade is a pivotal year. We are gearing up for the Iowa exams in the spring. Therefore, we will be concentrating on reading comprehension, the writing process, spelling, word identification, phonics, number sense, numeration, mathematical operations, fractions, decimals, measurement, time, estimation, geometry, graphs and basic algebra. Social Studies, Science, Cursive Writing, Religion and Health will also be taught.
Forty miuntes per week will be allotted for each of the following specials:Art, Gym, Music & Chorus, and Spanish.
Third Grade Goals:
- To leave third grade knowing that questioning is the key to learning
- To leave third grade with pride and the sense of great accomplishment
- To leave third grade with a thirst for reading and writing
- To leave third grade with the understanding that knowledge is power
- To leave third grade understanding that learning surrounds us everyday, in all that we do
